CE Course Description

In Kentucky, producers engaged in selling Long-Term Care insurance are required to undergo 8 hours of initial training in Long-Term Care insurance, as well as four hours of continuing education to be completed every two years. This course meets Kentucky’s requirements for 8-hour training—and it will give you the expertise you need to start your career in Long-Term Care insurance sales.

In Kentucky, as in the rest of the state, paying for long-term care isn’t easy. There are significant gaps in coverage in both Medicare and in private health insurance policies. Long-term care insurance can provide a much-needed lifeline to individuals and families who need financing to meet their needs for long-term care. As a producer, it’s crucial to understand all aspects of long-term care—and have the expertise required to assure your customers’ needs are met.

This course provides an overview of state-specific legal aspects of Long-Term Care and the Kentucky LTC Partnership Program. Topics covered include:

  • Why buy a partnership Long-Term Care policy? The benefits to consumers.
  • State and federal requirements pertaining to Long-Term Care.
  • Long-Term Care Partnership Programs vs. Medicaid and other funding options.
  • Alternatives to purchase of Long-Term Care insurance.
  • The importance of inflation protection.
  • Policy suitability guidelines and standards.
  • Contract requirements for partnership policies.

This course is offered online, allowing agents to complete training at their own pace and fit study around professional and family obligations. Click here [link to download page] to download this course today—and earn your license to offer long-term care policies to your customers.
